Bringing Art & Music to Our Schools
The Foundation is a pro-active partner in education bringing art enrichment to children through the literary, performing and visual arts. Since 1995, the Foundation's All Kinds of Art program has exposed thousands of students annually in over 27 schools in Okaloosa and Walton Counties to after-school art instruction, summer art camps and in-school touring performances, including symphony, opera, percussion, vocalists, storytellers, authors and theater companies.
Children who participate in and study the arts have higher SAT and ACT scores; are better able to complete tasks from start to finish; are more resistant to peer pressure and have hgihter self-esteem; exhibit creativity and imagination are are better prepared to love and work in our diverse society.
This educational outreach program is designed to inspire creativity, promote cultural exchanges, still a positive image of self and community, foster communication and tolerance and to enrich the overall educational experience. All Kinds of Art was honored with the Florida Commissioner of Education Award of Distinction from the Florida Department of Education and is sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs, the Southern Arts Federation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation with matching resources supplied by corporate and private donors.
