The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Ocean Reef Vacation Rentals & Real Estate are delighted to present Gimme Abbey, a tribute to the two greatest bands in rock and roll history, on April 24 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. The Return and Satisfaction, two nationally acclaimed tribute bands, have joined forces for this special tribute that takes audiences back to the 60’s.

Kamp Kellywamba will include four different classes featuring a pirate theme with students rotating through all four classes each day.

  • Drama – Campers will learn the "fun"damentals of theater while writing their own skits and preparing for a finale performance.
  • Dance – Experience different dance techniques as well as different styles of dance in preparation for an end of the week stage debut. Art – Enjoy creating your own masterpieces using multiple art techniques from traditional to experimental and everything in between.
  • Magic & Juggling – Learn the history of magic & juggling, perform tricks and how to “work an audience” from professional juggler and magician, Julian Pittman and show off their skills for parents at a finale performance on Friday.

Students may bring snacks (not lunch) to class.

Lions and tigers and bears oh my! Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is partnering with the Emerald Theatre Company to produce the classic, "The Wizard of Oz" at Destin Elementary for 3rd through 8th grade actors this summer. Students will experience auditions and casting (everyone gets a role), acting and theatre games, and scenic and prop construction in a positive team building environment.
